California King Size Beds & Mattresses
The California King bed — often called a “Western King” or “Cali King” — is a real treat if you're on the taller side as its extra length means you won’t find your feet dangling over the end. California King Bed Dimensions
In the US, a California King mattress typically measures 72" wide x 84" long, which is 183 cm wide x 213 cm long.
This means a California King mattress is 4 inches (10 cm) longer than a standard US Eastern King mattress, though it is 4 inches (10 cm) narrower in width.
California King in the UK
Here in the UK, bed sizes can vary and the naming isn’t always straightforward. A Super King is usually about 180 cm by 200 cm, which is similar in width to a US California King but roughly 6 inches (15 cm) shorter. If you already have a California King bed or mattress in the UK and need a matching mattress, bed or bedding, keep in mind that US mattresses are measured in imperial units rather than metric.
Bedding & Accessories
Due to its distinctive dimensions, you’ll need bedding that fits properly — especially fitted sheets that can accommodate the extra length (and possibly depth). While many US bedding retailers offer California King sheets and duvet covers, options in the UK and Ireland are more limited. For us, the US California King is one of our standard sizes, and we can make sheets to any depth at no extra charge.

If you’re over 6 feet tall, value extra legroom, or simply want a bed that stands out, a California King could be a great choice. Make sure you measure your bedroom carefully — its extra length can be an advantage for sleeping comfortably, but you'll need enough space in your room to enjoy it fully.
